Symbol of Solidarity....

Addendum to my previous blog entry- I've modified the symbol of solidarity written about in my previous blog entry to represent what I believe is a clearer vision of our faith & solidarity with those under persecution in the Middle East. I was inspired to create this by God's Word in Exodus 12:12-13 which says, "12...I am The Lord. 13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch y…

Arabic 'N' = Nazarene

This symbol is the Arabic letter 'nun' which is the first letter in the word 'Nazarene'. It is being painted on the properties of Christians in Mosul so that Islamic terrorists can identify them. Many Christians are adopting this symbol to show solidarity with our brothers & sisters in Mosul. Please keep them in prayer!

Think Before You Speak

DEVOTION May1, 2014 from pastor Greg Laurie 'Think Before You Speak ' The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, but the mouth of the wicked what is perverse. —Proverbs 10:32 J. Vernon McGee used to say that the only exercise some Christians get is running down others and jumping to conclusions. Slander and gossip are sins that, unfortunately, are far too common in the church today. How many times have rumors been spread that are based on information that simply is not factual…

'4 Things We Should Know'

THURSDAY, APRIL 24, 2014 DEVOTION-pastor Greg Laurie Four Things We Should Know He has planted eternity in the human heart. -Ecclesiastes 3:11 There are four things we should know about every person on earth. No matter how successful or unsuccessful they are, how famous or obscure they are, or how attractive or unattractive they may be, everyone shares these four traits. One, there is an essential emptiness in every person who hasn't yet come to Christ. Everyone is essentially empty. No mat…

Who is Jesus? Could C.S. Lewis & Bono agree?

Christian theologian and scholar, C.S. Lewis once famously opined: “I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: ‘I’m ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don’t accept his claim to be God.’ That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic — on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg — or else h…

Pastor Greg Laurie's Holy Thursday Devotional 4-17-2014

Pastor Greg Laurie on anger & bitterness. Destruction in Disguise Don't just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good. —Romans 12:9 One of the first things I remember taking place when I committed my life to Jesus Christ was the erosion of bitterness and anger and the growth of a love I had not known before. Years of bitterness and anger that had been building up just began to dissolve. If we claim to be followers of Christ and harbor bi…

He noticed they had plenty of grain t…

Pastor Greg Laurie - Make the right choice !

THURSDAY, APRIL 10, 2014 DEVOTION Make the Right Choice I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live. —Deuteronomy 30:19 When I first became a Christian, I decided that I would somehow find a way to live in two worlds. I was planning to hang out with my old friends and still be a Christian. For a time, I felt as though I were in a state of suspended animation. I wasn't comfortable with my old buddies, but I wasn't q…

IN SEARCH OF ORDINARY PEOPLE- is He calling you?

MONDAY, APRIL 7, 2014 DEVOTION from pastor Greg Laurie..."In Search of Ordinary People " People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart. —1 Samuel 16:7 God uses ordinary people to do extraordinary things. Many times when we're looking for some great superstar to come on the scene, God is developing someone in obscurity whom we haven't ever heard of. We will say, "What if so-and-so became a Christian? Wouldn't that be wonderful?" And while w…
